Organized Life and Death

What the world has come to- a well-organized death. Arrangement with funeral parlour- done. Contacting relatives abroad- done. A signatory for death certificate - done. A priest for anointing of the sick - done. No need for hospital. Then, time to withhold giving water, food, and meds to the patient. Then... wait... death comes. I am certain that, in spite of, the planning and organization, the death of a loved one is still filled with pain. And I sympathize with them.

Yet, it is so disturbing that living and dying had come to this. Artificial contraception, IVF, abortion, euthanasia fit into this mold of a planned and organized life. We can not be side-tracked by life or death. We can not be inconvenienced by life or death. We decide when, where, or how we want life or death.

It is chilling, There is hardly any room for God to surprise us. It is like we are the ones giving God a time limit to do His purpose. May God have mercy on us.
