We are All Pro-Choice

We are constantly making choices; Choices we make intuitively, some by imitation. At the same time, we are always promoting a choice.
Yes, choice, the over-used word. It is the stepping stone that leads us to a certain direction; And there are only two directions in this road of life. One end is the FULLNESS OF LIFE while the opposite end is LIVING DEATH.
It is easy to say, we want the fullness of life but reality is not that easy. Choice is where the battlefied of good and evil is; Of love and non-love. And so we live each day with embattled choices. We are being wooed, cajoled, convinced, threatened, bribed, coerced into making choices. And we are actually doing the same to others. In a way, we are all followerss and leaders. This, too, makes each one a participant/ contributor to the evils of this world or to the light of this world. Each person makes a DIFFERENCE.
Cardinal Henry Newman wrote, "We can choose what we believe but we are accountable for what we choose".
Choices often collide, that is why it is a battlefield. The choice to marry is a "yes" to one spouse and a "no" marital relationship to others. But then, there will be someone who would contest it and still want to have marital relations. The choice to work tonight means a choice not to be with my family tonight. But then the children choose to be with you tonight. A pregnant woman choose to go on unburdened by a pregnancy but then the baby in the womb choose to live.
Yes, we all have a "my choice" and we are willing to face the consequence no matter what the price. It is our freedom. Still, my choice is never totally mine alone. Our lives and our choices are intertwined with other people in this web of life. Precisely because of that, that makes every choice a journey towards the fullness of life or towards living death. And often the fallen ones are those who are in the midst of the battlefield and they didn't even know they are in. And that's the choices we make.
